Can’t the announcement wait?

For everything they’ve done wrong over our lifetimes, there’s one innovation that airlines have actually gotten right in recent years: in-flight entertainment. They may have stripped us of our legroom and charged us to bring on a carry-on, but at least we can now watch Better Call Saul while we fly!

However, there’s still some improvements to be had. For example, whenever the crew decides to make an announcement — no matter how stupid or pointless the announcement is — a notice appears on the screen and the audio cuts out.

For everyday people, this is just annoying, but for sports fans, it’s hell in the air. Recently, a flight attendant tried to make an announcement before the Detroit Lions’ game-winning kick — and the people on the flight weren’t having it.
